Wheel Refurbishment

At Prestige Wheel Centre, we take pride in our status as Alloy Wheel Specialists! However, our expertise extends beyond the realm of alloy wheel refinishing. We also stand as one of the UK's top distributors for bespoke, custom-made-to-order wheel brands. Our Vehicle Styling Specialists boast an extensive pool of knowledge of wheel fitments and the materials used in the construction of alloy wheels.

Recognising the pivotal role that wheels play in enhancing the aesthetics and performance of your vehicle, we are committed to delivering the best finish conceivable in the wheel refurbishing process, contingent upon the prevailing condition of the wheels.

We offer Powder Coating, Ceramic Polishing, CNC Diamond Cutting, and also 2 & 3-piece Split Rim refurbishment.

Arranging Wheel Delivery

We offer 3 options for delivering wheels to our facility:

1. Loose wheels - You may bring the wheels in to us off the car (tyres can be mounted/dismounted)

2. Leaving the vehicle with us - The vehicle will stay with us for the duration of the job. All vehicles pre-booked will be securely housed within our premises overnight.

3. Loan wheels - Available for use whilst your wheels are being refinished, subject to availibility.

We highly recommend reserving an appointment, as walk-in’s may experience extended waiting periods due to our commitment to quality and precision. On average, the typical turnaround period for most wheel refurbishment projects ranges between 2 to 4 working days. However, more intricate jobs, such as split rim refurbishments and ceramic polishing, will have a slightly lengthier timeframe.

The Refurbishment Process

It is noteworthy that the majority of our wheel refurbishment procedures take place in-house. In all cases we completely refurbish the wheel, with the tyre completely removed from the wheel rather than simply being masked off. To achieve the best possible outcome, all wheels are chemically stripped of all layers of paint. All or most wheels are also gently blasted by hand to remove rust and porosity to obtain a smooth metal surface in preparation for coating.  While this method may extend the timeline, quality finishes are what we aim to achieve each time.

Our facility is equipped with an in-house hydraulic machine dedicated to rectifying wheel deformities (buckles/flat spots), so where an issue like this may be identified, we will advise on the suitability of this process on a case-by-case basis.

The next stage would be for the wheels to undergo a pre-heat process where necessary to reduce the effects of air pockets in porous aluminium prior to powder coat. Bespoke or OEM finishes are then applied to complete the desired finish and a powder clear coat is the last finish applied to any wheel renovation.

Finally, we will refit the tyres and re-balance the wheels. We use stick-on weights, which are attached to the reverse of the wheel and cause no markings, usually in silver or black, with special colours available on request.
